The Primary modalities for re-establishing balance are Acupuncture, Moxibustion, Guasha, Cupping, and use of Chinese Herbal formulations.
Acupuncture seeks to regulate Qi (energy) and Xue (blood) that flows throughout the body, alongside channels that are called meridians. Acupuncture is the insertion of hair fine needles in acupoints located on these meridians.
Moxibustion is a warming method used at the acupoints.
Chinese herbs may be used for internally and externally acquired disharmonies and are given in the form of either teas, powders or pills.
Acupressure, massage, exercise and nutrition are other important aspects of TCM practiced methods.
Other modalities such as electro stimulation of the needles or cupping may be used as well.
